Dubai helicopter tours: routes, prices & what to expect

A closer look at all six routes, what each one costs, and how to choose the right flight for your time and budget.

The best helicopter tours in Dubai

A Dubai helicopter tour is the single best way to see the city — and with six routes to choose from, there is a flight for every budget, schedule and occasion. Every tour departs from our helipad on Palm Jumeirah, every passenger is guaranteed a window seat, and every flight is operated by a GCAA-certified pilot on a modern Airbus helicopter. Below is a full breakdown of each route, what it costs, what you will see, and which one is right for you.

Our six Dubai helicopter routes

City Scapes — 12 minutes

The quickest and most affordable flight in the fleet. City Scapes lifts off from the Palm and banks straight to the coast, so within seconds you are looking down on Palm Jumeirah and the sail of the Burj Al Arab. It is the perfect introduction for anyone short on time, and a firm favourite with first-time visitors who want a taste of Dubai from the air without committing to a longer flight.

Fun Ride — 15 minutes

Three extra minutes buys you the full run of the Dubai Marina skyline and a slower, lingering pass over the Palm. The Fun Ride is the route we book most often — long enough to feel cinematic, priced so you do not have to think twice. If you want the sweet spot between value and coverage, this is it.

The Iconic Tour — 17 minutes

This is the flight people picture when they imagine seeing Dubai from a helicopter. The Iconic Tour pushes inland far enough to bring the Burj Khalifa and Downtown into the window, then loops the coast past the Palm and Burj Al Arab on the way home. One flight, the full postcard list.

City Circuit — 25 minutes

When 17 minutes is not quite enough, the City Circuit traces a complete arc of the city — out over The World Islands, back across Palm Jumeirah and the Marina, inland to the Burj Khalifa and along the historic Dubai Creek. There is time to settle in, steady your camera and watch the city change from old town to glass skyline.

The Imperial Tour — 45 minutes (private)

A private charter that covers the entire coastal stretch and carries on past Downtown toward the desert fringe, where the towers give way to open sand. With no fixed route to rush, your pilot can linger over whatever you came to see. It is our go-to for proposals and milestone occasions.

The Gulf Desert Tour — 60 minutes (private)

Our longest and most complete flight: a full private hour from the glittering coast to the silence of the deep desert. The whole skyline, the islands, Downtown and then a long push inland over the dunes. This is the once-in-a-lifetime flight — unhurried, private and routed entirely around you.

How much does a Dubai helicopter tour cost?

Dubai helicopter tour prices depend on the length of the flight and whether you fly shared or private. Shared tours start from AED 715 (about USD 195) per guest for the 12-minute City Scapes, rising through AED 921 for the Fun Ride, AED 979 for the Iconic Tour and AED 1,450 for the 25-minute City Circuit. Private charters of these same routes book the whole aircraft for up to five guests, from AED 3,575. The longer private flights — the 45-minute Imperial Tour and 60-minute Gulf Desert Tour — are AED 14,500 and AED 18,420 respectively.

Shared prices are per person, so a couple flying the Iconic Tour pays for two seats. Private prices are for the entire helicopter, which often works out better value for groups of four or five. All prices include airport and landing fees, your headset, the safety briefing and, of course, a guaranteed window seat.

Which Dubai helicopter tour should you choose?

If it is your first time in Dubai, the 17-minute Iconic Tour is the one to beat — it brings the Burj Khalifa, Downtown, the Palm and the coast into a single loop. Travelling on a budget? City Scapes is the lowest-priced flight in the fleet and still delivers the Palm and Burj Al Arab. Want the widest coverage on a shared flight? The City Circuit adds The World Islands and Dubai Creek. Planning a proposal, a birthday or a corporate treat? Charter the Imperial or Gulf Desert Tour privately for a flexible route and a cabin that is yours alone.

Where do the tours depart from?

All of our Dubai helicopter tours take off from a helipad on Palm Jumeirah, one of the most scenic launch points in the city. Once your booking is confirmed we send the exact location, parking details and an arrival time — usually 30 minutes before your slot, to allow for check-in and the safety briefing. Hotel transfers can be arranged on request if you would prefer not to drive.

What is included

Every Dubai helicopter tour includes breathtaking aerial views of the skyline, a GCAA-certified professional pilot, a premium aviation headset, a safety briefing before departure, and all taxes and landing fees. You will fly on a modern Airbus H130 or H125, and hotel transfers are available for an additional charge. There are no hidden costs — the price you book is the price you pay.

The best time to fly and photography tips

Dubai’s skies are clear for most of the year, but the cooler months from October to April offer the crispest visibility. For photography, the hour around sunset is hard to beat — the low sun turns the skyline and the desert gold, and the Gulf takes on deep, rich tones. Midday flights show the turquoise water at its brightest. Whenever you fly, keep your camera lens close to the window to avoid reflections, shoot in short bursts, and let your pilot do the work of lining up the shot — they know exactly where to bank for the best angle on the Burj Khalifa and the Palm.

Booking your Dubai helicopter tour

Shared seats can often be booked a day or two ahead, but weekends, holidays and sunset slots fill quickly, so earlier is better. Private charters and special occasions are best arranged three to five days in advance. Reserve online, by phone or over WhatsApp, and our team will confirm your slot and answer any questions. If the weather is ever unsuitable to fly, we reschedule at no charge or offer a full refund — your safety and your view always come first.

Good to know

Dubai tour questions

How far in advance should I book?
A day or two is usually fine for shared flights, but weekends, holidays and sunset slots fill quickly. For private charters and special occasions we recommend booking three to five days ahead so we can hold your preferred time.
What is the difference between a shared and a private flight?
On a shared flight you take a seat alongside other guests on a fixed route — the most affordable way to fly, and everyone still gets a window. A private charter books the whole aircraft for your group, with a flexible route and the freedom to choose your departure time.
How many people can fly at once?
Our Airbus H130 and H125 helicopters seat up to five passengers plus the pilot. Seating is arranged by weight for balance, and we guarantee every passenger a window seat.
Where do the helicopters depart from?
Flights lift off from our helipad on Palm Jumeirah. Once your booking is confirmed we send the exact location, parking details and an arrival time — usually 30 minutes before your slot for check-in and the safety briefing.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first. If conditions are unsuitable we will contact you to reschedule at no charge, or offer a full refund if you cannot make another time. Dubai weather is clear most of the year, so cancellations are rare.
Is it safe, and who flies the helicopter?
Every flight is operated by GCAA-certified commercial pilots on a modern, fully maintained Airbus fleet. You will get a complete safety briefing before boarding, and our aircraft meet UAE General Civil Aviation Authority standards.
